We believe that education plays a vital role in fighting poverty. In collaboration with Mosvold-Martinus Foundation, we aim to help our undergraduate brethren overcome financial barriers during their academic tenure. Our ultimate goal is to help pave the way for quality professionals who would make our motherland proud.

About Mosvold Martinus Foundation

Eligibilty Criteria

  • Applicants must be following a full-time degree programme at the University of Moratuwa
  • All applicants must complete the online application form on the website to qualify for shortlisting.
  • All data provided in the application must be supported with relevant documents after shortlisting.
  • Any false declarations or failure to provide proof will result in disqualification.
  • Recipients must remain actively involved in university-recognized activities - including volunteering (e.g., Rotaract, Leo, AIESEC, Gavel etc.), sports, or aesthetics - completing a minimum of 30 hours every three months.
  • Recipients must maintain proper communication by providing regular updates to the scholarship coordinators - members appointed from the Rotaract Club who serve as the link between recipients and the university administration.
  • Recipients must attend a mandatory meeting every four months, convened by the University of Moratuwa administration or the Mosworld Martinous Foundation.
  • Attendance at all online value-added programme sessions is mandatory - including Soft Skills Development (citizenship education covering ethics, values, civic engagement, accountability, and governance) and Entrepreneurship Education. Non-compliance may result in scholarship review or suspension.

Necessity of Scholar

  • To identify promising young people who are at risk of giving up their university education due to financial strains.
  • To grant an opportunity to break through the cycle of hardship and initiate a thread of advanced living status.
  • To motivate the scholarship holders not only to advance themselves, but also lift their families and inspire others to use education as a springboard to success.
  • To inspire scholarship recipients to carry forward the assistance they had, once they reach their life destination.
